We love eating food. What we also love doing is talking about food. Similarly art is a common topic as well, This is when food meets art. The newly introduced brunch by Mövenpick Hotel Bur Dubai, ‘The Art of Brunch’ is different than other brunches for various reasons.
Having a poor appetite, I was worried if I will do justice with my review as the whole idea of brunch is a combination of breakfast and lunch but I planned to try at least 1 treat from all the counters (A little too much from the desserts section tho)
As soon as you enter, your eyes will catch the huge beautiful dessert station and then you will understand the meaning behind ‘Art of Brunch’ but I didn’t find any of the other stations artistic expect for the seafood counters. Moreover, the sunlight falling in the room along with live pianist really gave us the true feeling of brunching!
A short video 👇
Simple, creamy, fresh and tasted like pudding in a chocolate shaped bowl with berries on the top! (chocolate makes everything better)
Lemon meringue tart
A classic combination of sharp lemon filling and sweet pillowy meringue with a tart twist. Not a big fan of Meringues but I really enjoyed the tart version.
It was beautifully prepared with coloured superbly rich white chocolate and raspberries. I liked the white chocolate more than the filling! The filling was classic chocolate.
Chocolate ice cream
I have always thought Movenpick ice cream as a luxury treat and it tasted just like that! Too good to resist! There were variety of other flavors and toppings, I opt for sprinkles as it makes your day better a little more colourful.
Waffle with nutella and vanilla ice cream
It was one of my favourites. Fluffy, warm and crispy waffles- just the way a waffle is suppose to be! I would have it for late breakfast.
Waffles in the making 👇
The only thing I liked was the coloured white chocolate toppings.
Art of brunch cake
I assumed this was going to be the best among the cakes as for the name but unfortunately, it was tasteless and the texture was like water.
Why weren’t crepes without alcohol available? 👇
Fish and chips
I have read that many loved the fish and chips but it was too oily for my taste buds to digest.
I shall announce, the best course of the day was Korean meat noodles.
Step 1- Decide your main ingredient (Meat or shrimps)
Step 2- Enjoy live cooking and watch them mix all the ingredients.
Step 3- Eat in a noodle box while it gives you a street food feeling.
Uden noodles with meat and few vegetables were fresh, delicious with huge portion which made our tummies very happy. Must have!
I would say very less variety but everything tasted quite good. Would suggest papri and pakaro.
I was very disappointed with the beautiful looking salad bar. Quite many options but nothing stood out for me. My mom is a regular salad eater and she didn’t like it as well. If I had to suggest, go for Humms, Mezza and few of your favourite greens.
- Other options
Here is the best news for all the parents with little ones, a special room, “Kids Paradise“, a place where kids can eat, drink and play under the supervision of the staff. Kids will enjoy tons of activities such as painting, jumping castle, video games and much more.
Overall, it was a sort of successful discovery. The main highlight were the desserts as you can tell, I had more dessert items than the actual food. I must say, it was a family orientated brunch where food lovers can experience the collision of art and food. My mom and I had fun time together that bundles food, art and talk. Our favourites were Korean Grill, Salmon, Waffles and the entire Dessert section!
Thank you Mr.Mohamad and the rest of the team.
