For Dubai residents, weekend kicks off with a Brunch as it is officially the new cool and it is safe to say that we all love food very much.
Pergolas is located at the beautiful, mansion look-like hotel, Al Murooj Rotana and is best known for it’s outdoor seating with the garden vibes which is almost the meaning of the word Pergolas (Google on your own, please).
We residents also, read reviews (on Zomato) and I was surprised that everyone (which is very rare) was praising the Friday Brunch at Pergolas so I kinda developed high expectations!
As soon as we entered, we noticed that the buffet spread is all over the restaurant making the overall experience comfortable, the sunlight falling in the room and the magician which gave us the true feeling of brunching!
- Salad, Beard and Cheese
The variety is unbeatable, there are two salad stations, one being DIY which was the first kind we came across in Dubai and we quite liked the concept of ‘make your own salad’ Both the salad stations were temptingly tasty and you could tell that they are good quality ingredients.
- Seafood and Sushi
I personally don’t like having seafood but I did give it a try! Variety of delicious and light sushi! You rarely find a huge separate seafood for sushi at buffets but I guess Pergolas has it all!
The long array of delicaes was definitely my fav out of all the stations and we were able to take two rounds as you can start from pizza and end with a shawarma!
- Plate 1,
Pizza, garlic bread, prawns and shawarma-all freshly prepared and simply crispy in the mouth. We should warn you, the shawarma got cold too soon so you might want to start eating without any delays.
- Plate 2,
Beef tenderloin– Cooked perfectly pieces and taste better with rice or sauce.
Stir Fried rice– Absolutely loved these! Light and fluffy as a meal on it’s own as well makes a pleasing side dish.
Potato wedges– Perfect finger food and was a delightful accompaniment to other dishes.
A separate Arabic salad station (talk about the quantity) and quite few Levant courses.
We were full but could we leave without tasting the butter chicken? No!
Butter chicken- Flavourful and mild with the right spices. The sauce is creamy and not too thick or too thin. Best to have with basmati rice and naan bread.
Yet again, the variety is impressive as there are traditional sweets and international treats and you might get confused what to have! We adore the Chocolate Fountain and Gummy Bears.
Overall, it was a super successful discovery. We usually worry that quantity would take over quality but at Pergolas both were fantastic and after a long time, we liked all the courses from a brunch.
