New Indian restaurants are popping up every day in Dubai and we are currently in search of the best causal dining options. With that being said, we taste tested Yellow Chilli so you don’t have to!
Yellow Chilli is created by Chef Sanjeev Kapoor who is a well-recognized Indian celebrity chef, restauranteur, and media personality. The newly opened Yellow Chilli at Burjuman offers authentic Indian classics and it claims to be a premium casual dining in a sophisticated settings.
Peru Pyala is a mixture of Guava, lemon and mint served in a chilli rimmed class. The literal meaning of peru is Guava and pyala means glass in hindi (incase if you were wondering) I should warn you, this drink is so addictive and it is not because of guava or lemon but when the hint of chilli collides with the mixture…that’s when the magic begins! Simply light and refreshing! Both Strawberry mojito and Masala mint cooler were ordinary.
Our Top 3,
Hara Masaley Ka Bhuna Paneer- Grilled cottage cheese with dense crumbly texture that goes beautifully well with mint flavour and green masala.
Aloo Nazakat-It is a common garden potato that’s been peeled, cored through the center and deep fried. The core is stuffed with an unique combination of nuts, sweet corns and crisp potatoes wafers. The perfect crisp on the outside and with sweet flavor at the inside.
Dahi Ke Kebab- Mango chutney stuffed in delicate, light, fried yogurt kebab. These are the best Dahi Kebabs in Dubai! So delicious, moist and fried to perfection! Must have!
- Main course
Shaam Severa- Succulent spinach koftas cubes swimming in a lightly spiced smooth tomato butter gravy topped with creamy cottage cheese. It is as good as it sounds- rich, tasty and visually appealing!
Chicken Tawa Masala- The chicken Tawa is not at all dry or rubbery. As for the gravy, it is luscious with all the masala. It tastes best with tandoori roti or Peshawari naan. (Peshawari Naan is a delicious flatbread filled wirh sweet and crispy nuts. Loved it)
Fish tikka masala-A flaky tandoori fish in a tangy gravy.
- Dessert (Zauk ki Shahi and Gulab E Gulkand)
Both were creamy, luxuries and luscious!
Moment of truth!?
Venue: We found the venue too small however liked how the Indian culture is portrayed through art on the walls all over the place.
Food: Yellow chilli is a extensive library of Sanjeev Kapoors creations. We liked the vegetarian selection the best for all the courses and we recommend Dahi Kebab, Shaam Severa, Pehwari Naan and Gulab E Kulkand.
Services: Mr.Ashraf explained us everything in detail and made us feel very comfortable. Love the fact that he made sure everything we tasted was according to our taste preferences and you may do that as well when you pay a visit.
Overall, it was sort of a successful discovery as for the delicious vegetarian selection, top notch services however the non-vegetarian dishes didn’t meet our expectations at all.
Thank you Sapna, Mr.Ashraf and rest of the team!
