Being a tea connoisseur (sometimes I like to call that myself), hearing the name ‘Tea Club’ couldn’t be any less exciting and then finding out it is located in Downtown with a view of the iconic Burj Khalifa…yes it couldn’t get any better and it is everything I like!
Afternoon tea is a ritual continued from the early 1840’s and has finally become a popular meal in Dubai. With that being said, Tea Club is a very unique and impressing concept offering up to 60 different flavors of tea as well as solid food including a delectable afternoon tea while maintaining high quality and a pleasant ambiance.
Afternoon tea set (AED 160)
A luxurious afternoon tea, finger sandwiches, scones, sweet pastries, macaroons and a pot of tea for two.
- First tier (Strawberry pistachio truffle, Passion fruit cake, Berry tart and Honey-gerbeaud)
My favourite is Honey gerveaud (Moist with delicious flavor in every bite) and Berry tart (crisp and crumbly pastry base and the filling is made with a medley of sweetened berries)
- Middle tier (Almond orange scone, Walnut scone, Lemon cake, Walnut date cake)
My pick is Lemon cake slice as it was soft and fluffy with a hint of zesty lemon flavour.
- Bottom tier (Roast beef mini bun, Tri-sandwich, Salmon caviar, Chicken sandwich, Vegetarian mini roll and Quiche)
All of them were fresh and tasted different from each other so it was fun guessing all the rich flavors. Loved the Salmon caviar!
- Plate of macaroons
I liked all of the macaroon flavors which is why this was my favourite part of the afternoon tea. Delicate and crispy from the outside, but chewy and sweet at the inside! Must have!
Being an absolute crazy tea lover, I was very excited to try new flavours as Tea Club has a wide range of flavors from around the world (Arabic and English tea, India, China, Japan and Sir Lanka) with their own story to tell…
- Chocolate mint– tasty tea with aroma of mint leaves and a slight hint of chocolate flavor. I wish there was more taste of chocolate.
- Berries berries a very strong, full of flavor delightful tea. Would order this again.
As soon as you enter, you will be happy as it is a casual venue to relax while enjoying the balanced decor of both, Arabic heritage and modern fair. Not to forget, the huge mirrors, shiny chandeliers and the open library of tea. If you sit outside, the sights of dreamy lake and Burj Khalifa is a bonus!
Overall, it was a successful discovery as for the Tea Club has variety of unique teas including a very affordable (AED 160) Afternoon Tea, the ambiance was on point and services were great too!
